  2. #wejazz festareilla ja täällä vaunusalin vieres hiljaisella kujalla on #introvertti esiintymä. Nautin hetken hälyttömyydestä ennen oddarrangin keikkaa.

  3. Sven Wunder's set sounded interesting, but unfortunately I was too sleepy to listen for more than a few minutes. What can I say, I'm a morning person. Should've had a coffee when I arrived at Korjaamo. #wejazz

  8. There was the #wejazz festival evening last night at Korjaamo in Helsinki. Highlights for me:

Hearing Heli Hartikainen's CHRONOVARIATIONS live. Tenor sax + electronics, it's a 3D soundscape with resonating metal sheets placed around the room. The recording is great but it's different from experiencing it live.

Black Diamond's two saxophones were interesting, too. Fun and groovy, and the drummer Neil Hemphill was on fire.

  13. I did not recognize the artists but they turned out to be Antti Lötjönen (bass), Heli Hartikainen (saxophone), and Aino Juutilainen (cello).

They all played in physical way, exploring the sounds their instruments can provide. I don't know how to put this in a smart-sounding way, so let's put in a stupid way: the kind of jazz that goes honk and clonk.

The atmosphere on the gig was great, too. Intimate and focused, almost devout.

  18. Yesterday I attended the ✨secret gig✨ at We Jazz Festival.

The idea is that they do not announce the artists or the venue before hand. I was a bit worried since while I like jazz, I don't like all of it. But it turned out to be a blast!
