In the coming weeks, we will be focusing on: identity. Diverse identities are markers of a pluralistic democracy and show that cohesion benefits from diversity. Identity cannot be reduced to a single characteristic. It arises from the interplay of personal traits, individual and collective experiences, and social affiliations.

We live in an age of multiple crises; wars, armed conflicts, refugee flows, climate change, and economic crises are changing everyday life and politics in the EU and its member states. In the We-ID project, we want to investigate and understand how resilient, democratic communities can actively promote cohesion and belonging. Our goal is to find out how they can act as long-term drivers for a resilient democracy.
