It’s crazy how many vendors simply don’t return enquiries. The first cake maker who returns my enquiry and I can have an actual conversation about wedding cake with could charge me just about anything, because nobody else wants my money apparently. #weddings #weddingvendors #weddingcake

My wife and I got married 12 years ago today. A significant amount of our time during the months we dated was spent playing a #GURPS #ttrpg with some friends of mine. So when it came time to decide on the wedding cake, we went with 3d6. We chose a roll of 4 (a critical success) since that way the dice could also be read as 1+1=2. Many guests at the wedding were confused by the cake. Fortunately, they all had puzzle packets at their tables to keep them occupied.

“The Edwardses say the restoration thus far has cost them between $700,000 and $1 million, and another million is needed to replace the rotting exterior ornamentation. They’ve been renting out the house to small groups but say they need to generate more revenue to support the home’s ongoing renovation needs.” #downeast #maine #kennebunk #weddingcake https://downeast.com/home-and-garden/restoring-kennebunks-wedding-cake-house-is-no-piece-of-cake/

I love doing wedding cakes🤗

There is one very stressful thing about them though: the drive to the venue!!!
I delivered this one this afternoon to the gorgeous Killashee Hotel, I’m not sure I breathed for the 15mins it took me to get there … 😂
I arrive with the 3 tiers separately & assemble at the venue. I always have an “emergency kit” with me 🤞

Late lies the wintry #Sun a-bed,
A #Frosty, fiery #Sleepyhead;
Blinks but an hour or two; & then,
A blood-red orange, sets again.

Before the #Stars have left the skies,
At #Morning in the dark I rise;

The cold #Wind burns my face, & blows
Its frosty pepper up my nose.

Black are my steps on #Silver sod;
Thick blows my frosty breath abroad;
& #Tree & house, & hill & #Lake,
Are frosted like a #WeddingCake.
