It make sense, if you want to be part of #indieweb ring movement spec, and maintaining lightweight alternative to #ActivityPub , with #webmention #webhooks #websub

Personally, I advocate for users directly owning and publishing content to subscribers with optional relay intermediaries, but nobody's asking me.
This would ask more of users, but agency must be seized. It is not given.

Anyone have thoughts on #WebSub? I'm seeing lots of #RSS feeds using Google's pubsubhubbub, but that makes me worried. Google was the bad guy in that movie about Google Reader, the beloved RSS aggregator. A rug pull from Google would be pretty painful as everyone would need to manually migrate. I've found: Google's pubsubhubbub in 1577 feeds, superfeedr in 95, websubhub in 52, and switchboard in 39.

The new poller is humming along nicely, parsing and fetching articles, for all #websub updates.
I've just pushed some additional patches which makes assigning cover images for articles more reliable.
It also includes a patch for correctly assigning the author name when included as a ”`dublinCore` struct.

Several commits later, the new poller service is running live, in production, handling half of all #websub traffic coming to the Elytra servers.
The service is also humming along nicely, using very little resources on the server.
The single server (512MB, 2 v-cores) is now hosting:
- API
- Neptune (Full-text extractor)
- Poller (WebSub only for now) -
