Just back from a 2 day binge-dive into operating a handful of different #WebSDR radio receivers, as a returning #radio #amateur. Picking up the hobby again after 20 years of parenting and jobbing.
Now waiting for #RSGB to get back to me, to hopefully verify the callsign I chose 25 years ago, so I can renew it.

#today I learnt that there are public web based #SDR services, that allow many users to remotely tune into a single wideband multimode radio receiver.
It's like having your own radio tuner, with a tuning scale several miles wide.
Been enjoying listening to radio amateurs using sideband, and shortwave radio stations from around the world.
I may not need to buy a SDR of my own so soon!

На сервер с WebSDR поставил ядро linux-rt. Почитал про такие ядра и подумал, что для обработки данных с RTL-SDR это подходит больше. Посмотрим, какие вылезут проблемы.

Только что узнал, что у OpenWebRX есть /metrics для того, чтобы prometheus и подобными снимать метрики. Пошёл рисовать дашборды. :)

Сегодня выходной взял и плотно поработал в сторону приёма на WebSDR. Судя по цепочкам маяков, приём стал куда лучше! Жду вечера, чтобы оценить работу Средних Волн.

Просто переходите по ссылке и кликайте на станцию!
Чем он примечателен: отлично принимает длинные и средние волны. У меня с этим большие вопросы, а вот там практически без шумов можно послушать музыкальные радиостанции. Иногда приём падает, но это, наверное, особенности приёма KIWI, я не знаком ещё с таким устройством.

TIL: The wide-band #WebSDR of the University of Twente provides waterfall diagrams for the whole day, plotting the station's full spectrum (0–29 MHz).

I learned about this part of the #radiospectrum called the #waterhole around 1400 MHz that could serve as an #interstellar communications band. I was sooo excited that I took a photo of the frequency from the movie and tried to find a #websdr with coverage in the band.
