I'm sure this is just a coincidence, but I can't help finding it horrifically funny that they used the name "Paul Campbell." Paul Campbell was a pseudonym used by the Weavers for their writing, and of course, the Weavers played the music (by then 30 to 40 years old), that I listened to in my teen years and which put me hopelessly out of touch with my generation.

My first #weaving project is coming along nicely, although I seem to have messed up the sett, since the reed spreads the warp a fair bit to the left and right of the actual fabric. Still, I'm enjoying it, and the fabric is turning out very well. I chose mercerized cotton for the warp and some cobweb-weight merino that I had no plans for for the weft.

How common are knots and dodgy or broken threads in cones of mercerised cotton?The last batch I got from Ashford (four colours, eight cones) have had so many that I can’t even get a half-full bobbin.

Question for those that know about #weaving
I bought this colorful ball of sock yarn at a needlecraft fair recently. I'd planned knitting socks, but know I'm thining about weaving with it.I have 100 g / 420 m. The yarn has long stretches of each color (visible at the left edge of the ball band). I thought about using it as warp and using black yarn as weft to get a lengthwise striped scarf. I have a cone of super thin merino.
