Well, my Tempest Weather Station started having issues two nights ago after the big storm we got in Esparza #CostaRica. Just after the storm ended the station started showing winds over 100km/h! I reset it, then it worked fine for half a day but it finally stopped connecting to the hub and no más. Good that it has a 2 years warranty. #weather #weatherstations

May I ask, do any of you use a weather station? I am looking for recommendations and ones to avoid.

Ok #homeassisant pros... I have a dumb #sprinkler. I have only 5 zones, 3 in use. I want a smart one with no cloud needed, but I also don't want to have to build my own with relays, etc. I have no experience with a sprinkler controller newer than 2008, so I am sure advances have been made. I do want to eventually have my own #WeatherStations (a topic for another time) so if the station could have automation possibilities, that would be great. ZWave or WiFi but if I have to get zigbee I can.

I have not used the Ambient Weather stations, myself, but I have seen some people like them. (I have a AcuRite stations I have wired up to Raspberry Pi, which is well beyond your "not a techy person" parameters)
