Tanja Schneeberger, from DFKI Berlin, is a researcher in human-computer interaction with a background in psychology. She got to know DFKI during an internship researching new interaction methods for future cars and has been hooked ever since. Today, Tanja is part of the Affective Computing Group, where she works on new ideas to improve the treatment of people with depression using virtual agents.

If Mansi Sharma hadn't been a doctoral student in computer science at DFKI Saarbrücken, she might have chosen a career in medicine and become a surgeon to save and improve lives. This may be one of the reasons why she has developed an AI-based system that enables surgeons to sharpen their surgical skills and gradually adapt to increasingly complex challenges.
