>> The #DemocraticNationalCommittee is boosting #KamalaHarris for 2028…
Oh #DNC, please! #WeAreNotGoingBack.#Harris disappeared from the public scene the night of the election and has not been seen or heard from since, while America remains under duress.
Does she or the DNC think we are just fools waiting to cast our votes to Blue, no matter who?
Do Better, #DemocraticParty. Boost more passionate #Democratic candidates.

#WeAreNotGoingBackSSA: THE ROAD TO INDEPENDENCE
SSA began life as an independent agency in 1935, became a sub-cabinet agency in 1939, and returned full-circle to independent status in 1995. Throughout the years, arguments had been heard in the halls of Congress that SSA should be returned to independent agency status. The 1983 National Commission on Social Security Reform (aka, the Greenspan Commission) again raised this issue and recommended a special study be commissioned of the matter. This special study was completed in 1984 and it outlined several options for making SSA an independent agency. This led to numerous legislative proposals in the ensuing years and in 1994 the legislation passed both houses of Congress unanimously. (See statements of support by Congressional officials.)
President Clinton signed the bill on August 15, 1994 (59 years and one day after FDR signed the original Act - https://www.congress.gov/bill/103rd-congress/senate-bill/1560/all-info)on March 31, 1995 at a ceremony at SSA Headquarters in Baltimore.

#WeAreNotGoingBackThe Day the New Deal Was Born, New York Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire:
On Saturday, March 25, 1911, at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory, a lethal fire broke out on the factory floor. more than one hundred women and two dozen men. Less than three weeks after the fire, on April 11, 1911, factory co-owners Isaac Harris and Max Blanck were indicted on charges of manslaughter - but when the case went to trial that December, they were found not guilty. The attached video includes audio from that Triangle Fire 50th Anniversary Commemoration, March 25, 1961. Hear: former Labor Secretary Frances Perkins. In her own voice, you will hear Madame Perkins say,
"I am one of the very few people still alive who not only remember the triangle fire, but who saw it ... that with affection and respect upon those who died on March 25th, 1911, in this great fire. For this we can be thankful, and we can still say, these dead have not died in vain, and we will never forget them."More Social Security history: https://www.ssa.gov/history/ & #SSAHistGWC

Of course #DEI is just another of a long string of terms that the #GOP has gone out of their way to make derogatory, along with #woke and many, many others. It should be obvious to anyone who is paying even the least bit of attention that we are decidedly not a color-blind society, nor are we a society free of discrimination. Quite the contrary, in fact. This is why #DEI programs are more important than ever. Not to mention the #A11Y label the executive order ducked in. As a person who is blind, there are certain things I need to level the playing field for me. If I were forced to rely on employers to just do the right thing and hire me, I’d be waiting a long time, possibly forever. If an employer has the choice between me and another perspective candidate who is not disabled, who do you think they’ll give the job to? No-brainer, it would go to the person for whom no accommodation needs to be made, no extra expense in adaptive equipment, etc. Chances are pretty good I’d be sent away with platitudes about how it’s so great that I’m out there trying, I’m an inspiration, blah blah blah. Racism is not over. Discrimination is not over. And outmoded notions about disability are far from over. So the current regime can take their dreck about how they just want to make things color-blind and equal and just stick it. #WeAreNotGoingBack

Today marks day one of the unraveling of MAGA. These power drunk doofuses will ultimately collapse under hubris, in-fighting, greed, old ideas, mental decline, and, most importantly, a rise in opposition that will stun them and the world.
We're not going back.

For Musk and his ilk who are so afraid of and disdainful of women:
As the astute Betty White said,
“Why do people say, ‘Grow some balls’? Balls are weak and sensitive.
If you really wanna get tough, grow a vagina. Those things really take a pounding!”

We are all Cassian Andor now. Act now or we will never have a chance.
[Cassian Andor]: No, listen to me. They don't have enough guards, and they know it. They're afraid. Right now, they're afraid.
[Kino Loy]: Afraid? Afraid of what!
[Cassian Andor]: They just killed a hundred men to keep them quiet! What would you call that?
