I'm going to the WeAreDevelopers World Congress in Berlin next week, as suggested by my employer. Is it just me, or is the fediverse suspiciously quiet about the event? Maybe due to the fixation on LLMs/AI agents of the congress?

Would like to hear some opinions of actual developers, not just my engineering colleagues

There was a techno/electronic music party after the #WeAreDevs event and … I liked it. They sprinkled in some cyberpunk like songs so it helped but it was mostly just danceable electronic music.

I never experienced something like that before as this is usually accompanied with drugs and that's a no-go for me.

And … I guess I like it?

I would still never go to something like that in a "normal" setting as I don't want to get drugged, but there's a new reason to look forward to the #WeAreDevelopersWorldCongress I guess 😅

Hello Berlin. Bin ja eigentlich gestern Abend schon angekommen zur #WeAreDevelopersWorldCongress .

On my way to the WeAreDevelopers World Congress.

This year picking panels was a bit more difficult, as 70% seems to be some AI stuff. But at least there aren't as much overlapping panels this time.

If anyone wants to mute my posts about this events, from now on I'll use the official hashtag #WeAreDevs.

The other hashtags are only here now to let other people find the official one as the Event is always pretty bad about communicating what the official Hashtag is.

You'll usually only see it in big letters in the location itself like this photo from last year shows.

Ugh. Just realized the #WeAreDevelopers World Congress starts next week already.

I guess I should take a look at the schedules to make a plan where I want to be when? 😅
