The only really entertaining thing was the GitHub Copilot live vibe coding keynote in front of thousands of developers.
And EVERY SINGLE THING failed. I know, live coding is tough but what they showed is exactly what happens in real life. Copying weird error messages in the chat and hope AI will magically solve it. But everything just gets worse from there on. ✌️

- You’ll never meet the speaker accidentally, it’s a huge area with too many people, there is an app
But you cannot communicate with the speaker to meet them.
- They have addressed their homegrown problem of noise on some stage by handing out headphones to everyone, but not on all of them which in itself is a display of incompetence

- Most talks are limited to 30min which is way too short to communicate any interesting topic.
- There are only 10min in between talks to run from one stage to the other, they are often in different buildings. As the conference is overbooked, you need to be 10min early to get a seat, to achieve that, we had to leave running talks 10min earlier before they even finished.
- often no time for Q/A3/x

- The so called stages are on the edge of the sponsors expo area, the have no closed walls and it’s extremely loud. It’s so hard to understand a single word that it exhausting.
- 60% of the talks are companies advertising their products disguised as talks
- Every talk must contain the word AI (almost)
- There are 5 talks about the exact same topic, just different companies -> no proper selection.2/x
