#wear-os — Public Fediverse posts

I have an initial port of Intersector ready for #Android, and need to get at least 12 testers once again to help run a Closed Test before I can release it to Production. I'll need a good mix of #TalkBack users, and folks who are willing to walk out and about checking out how well the app works with their local intersections and areas. It also has a #WearOS companion app that I have no means of testing further than emulators. Feel free to message me directly and I'll add you to my tester email list.

Samsung’s Android update window depends on the phone: up to seven years for flagship models, about five to six for mid-range, and up to four for budget devices.

The Galaxy S23 series is scheduled for updates through February 2027; the Galaxy A06 5G through February 2031.

Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro, both 2022 models, are due to receive Wear OS updates through December 2026.

Knit is coming to Wear OS. Look at your wrist to see who your phone can reach, with a line to each person: thin for Bluetooth, wide for Wi-Fi Aware. If you've added a LoRa board or an internet relay, people further out show up too.

There's a tile, a history of your day, and five complications for your watch face. The watch reads your phone directly over Bluetooth, with no Google Play services on either end.

Coming soon for Wear OS 3 and later. https://getknit.app #Android #WearOS #mesh
