#Avatar #WayOfWater

Ja, profan. American Entertainment.

Aber auch echt schön zu schauen. Tolle Bilder mit großem Aufwand entstanden. Sci Fi (I like). Story, jojo, let's don't talk about that.

Hat mir aber im Ganzen gefallen, mal zwischendurch.

What about you?

This week we go to the planet Pandora with James Cameron's Avatar, providing Starfinder stats for the Na'vi

Going to see the new Avatar movie tonight. I didn't love the Hobbit at 48fps, it felt like an awkward framerate. But maybe Cameron's found some way to make it work. Too bad it's not in 120, that looked great for Gemini Man.

Either way I'm excited for a 3D visual thrill ride 😎

Got tickets to #Avatar2 in #IMAX for tomorrow. Pumped but apprehensive since the only IMAX showings were 3D and, historically, I'm one of those few people where the 3D movies don't work well on me. We'll see how it goes! Taking my 2 older boys who have been asking incessantly to go see it :)

As a student of linguistics, one of the coolest parts of #Avatar #WayOfWater was where they hired a dude to invent a whole sign language for use underwater - thus creating a culture that teaches all hearing and Deaf members a common sign language with a reasoned explanation for doing so.

Just saw the new #avatar, if the old one was basically a #pocahontas remake, this one was essentially a #starwars remake, except on the sea. Worth 'seaing'

I don't know how, but somehow I managed to sculpt something that actually doesn't look like total garbage.

Facing my biggest fear -sculpting- has been quite interesting so far! It has once again proved to me, that it's really just a matter of getting trough that beginning 'ugly' phase.

Anyway, I got very inspired by Avatar recently, and decided to recreate a Na'vi face. Gonna see how far I can improve it, but I'm looking forward to further working on it!

I won't say #WayofWater is a great film BUT it was such an experience in the cinema.

3D. HFR. When the smoke, fire, water and lighting all hit it is in a class of it's own as far as effects go.

Story...eh...it's Cameron doing his own version of a 90s JRPG.

You could easily argue that it should be way shorter BUT i think the audacity of doing a meandering 3+hr fan fic is part of the appeal.

Re-watched the first #Avatar movie now, ready for #WayOfWater tomorrow! Let's see what 3D HFR can do for #Pandora.

20th Century are going all out on their ads promoting ticket booking for Avatar. Anyone would think they're worried it might flop (or not earn the several billion Cameron probably spent on it).

I'll see it but not at the theatre. I'm in my 40s so dark, warm rooms make me fall asleep. That or 30 minutes in I'll be wanting a cuppa.
