  1. There used to be an absolutely fabulous Ashes to Ashes / Life on Mars fan website, presented in the style of 1980s CRT display with green font.

I don't suppose this rings any bells, does it? Does anyone recall the URL? #WayBack

  2. WAYBACK PUTS A SPOTLIGHT ON DTK

On July 24 and 25, the City of Kitchener hosted its annual Wayback Festival, transforming Carl Zehr Square and King St. outside City Hall into a two-day celebration of live music, local food and timeless classic rock anthems.

This event was originally launched 38 years ago under the banner of the old rock festival; ever since it first started, the event steadily expanded its scope. According […]

  4. Oh no, journalists won't have their musings immortalized in the #digital amber of the #Wayback Machine! 🕰️ Quick, everyone, join #Rachel Maddow's crusade to save #journalism from the terrifying prospect of being forgotten—because nothing screams "crucial work" like a hastily drafted #online #petition. 📝✨

  5. I am still actively using the original programme that I wrote in 1985 to manage my comic collection. It is written in dBASE III+ syntax and compiled with Clipper on a state-of-the art Commodore PC20 with Intel 8088 (4,77 MHz, 16-Bit-architecture) CPU, 256 kB RAM, and 10 MB hard drive (fancy stuff, back then). Today, over 40 years later, the user interface may look a tiny bit outdated, but everything still works like a charm.

  7. Ever since #TheInternetArchive was caged and chained by the #Trump presidency, the #Wayback machine has been horribly dysfunctional. So many 503 errors that they should call it the 503 machine.

This is of course so they can control the flow of information, do a bit of historical revisionism and prevent the unearthing of facts, faux pas and self reporting - as fascists are want to do.

  9. A new version of Wayback has been released.
You need Wayback to run the thousands of Xorg coded programs written before Wayland was conceived.
I only need this on my SBC. I run Xorg in MX-Linux
