Sliver Moon Map

Along the very edge of the visible moon I have marked some of the visible craters/rilles on the moon.
It is hard to match the edge due to libration changes. I had to work backwards matching stellarium over 3 days.

My closest capture yet of the Apollo 11 Landing site using a 2.5 mm lens, Galaxy A14 Android phone, ProCamX and a Dobsonian 10 telescope.

Here you can see the small craters of Armstrong, Collins and Aldrin just above Moltke Crater and the Landing site in between!

Three non-conspiracies in one #photograph during today’s #sunset. There is a #WaxingCrescent #NewMoon, to which humans have been in my lifetime. The #contrail that a passing #aeroplane is illuminated by the setting #Sun and is made up of water droplets condenses out of hot exhaust #gases of the #JetEngines.

Around this time of the #LunarCycle, the #Moon is very close to the position of the #Sun in the sky and so to get a picture of it, you either have to be up just before dawn for the #OldMoon and just after dusk for the #NewMoon. The actual new Moon was yesterday but this evening, I managed to capture this thin sliver of a #WaxingCrescent. Of course it’s very dim at present and so I had to use a #tripod.
