DO IT! MAKE WATERLOO SO ASHAMED THEY DO IT TOO!
I am SO sick, as a cane user, of being trapped in my apartment more or less from November to March...
(because if someone doesn't clear their snow...then they probably didn't last time, either. Which means their then-snow is now ice, under the new snow.
Put your weight on a cane with ice under it, and you are falling down. So every bit of uncleared snow is a potential broken hip.
Snitch lines are useless - what am I going to do, spend fifteen minutes per block stopping, taking pictures, and writing a report at every bloody place that doesn't bother? All so that the city can come out and say "well, two flakes of snow fell on Wellesley yesterday, so technically the timer has reset..."
And in the end, nothing gets done. It's infuriating.
If you're local, ELECT SAM! Sam is an incredible person, with solid politics all down the line. A small business owner for years, Sam contributes to the community in all kinds of ways every day, and is genuinely interested in making life better for the people he wants to represent, and for all of us along the way.
Vote Sam Nabi. Trust me. You will not regret that choice.

Summer’s not over yet, but let’s talk about snow. Do you find the sidewalks are cleared effectively in your neighbourhood? Should we keep relying on individual property owners to clear their portion of sidewalk, or have the city plow them? What do you think about bringing back the neighbourhood snowblower grant program?
