I didn't want to believe that this "lifehack" for cutting a water melon is true. So I tried it. And well it worked first try.

So apparently the easy way to cut a water melon in half is to use a bread knife, hit it with the backside of the blade on the "equator" 2-3 times and then turn the knife around and cut it at the same spot.

It cracked in half almost perfectly and almost entirely through.
