  1. I just accidentally found myself watching the first ever episode of #WaterlooRoad. I've never seen any of that show before...but fuck me that's some watchable shit.

I'm not going to stick with it, because there's twenty years of episodes to watch but I had a surprisingly decent time with it.

Also, Jill Halfpenny was and remains absolutely my shit.

  2. This week's episode of WATERLOO ROAD featured a handful of really potent scenes dealing with anxiety and ADHD. I thought it was a really important episode and found real personal resonance in it.

Was a delight to chat about it on my podcast... podfollow.com/waterloo-road-po

  3. As someone who has spent the last three years hosting a nostalgic podcast about #WaterlooRoad, it was surreal to see the show back on TV screens last night. And with the issues at play in society, it's more relevant than ever. I can't wait to see where the rest of the series goes. #tv

  4. Oh god, first ep of the new #WaterlooRoad has already got me weeping.

I'm too old and sentimental for this shit.

Why does it get easier to cry the older you get?

  5. When the BBC announced it was relaunching #WaterlooRoad I was dubious on two counts — the patronising view that people from The North really want a show about a school in Rochdale, and because the original really should have ended when Miss Mason left, because it was starting to recycle it’s own storylines.

But on the basis of the first episode of the reboot it shows more promise than I expected.

It’s too early to say which child will be the first to give birth in the bogs, though
