Hum, ordered some tacos and a burrito from Mucho Burrito in Waterloo. Not bad. A different variety from Fat Bastard, and the tacos arrived in a pile due to poor shipping, but you know what? Taco bowl, presentation is less important than flavour and all that. And it was really quite nice. Also, they used corn tortillas for the tacos, which was a nice touch.
The burrito is filling and has a nice amount of meat, and all told, I can't complain in the slightest. And they serve pretty good chocolate chip cookies as a dessert.
Definitely worth getting, though I want to actually have them fresh from the restaurant at some point - they're right off King at University, so an easy stop for those on the 7 line. #waterlooregioneats

Another day of hithering and thithering. Met up with Jeff Stewart of Food Day Canada to chat about this year's festivities (SO AWESOME). Also talked about local food, international foodways, third culture cuisine, and jellies and jams.
Did all this in the very lovely Whoopsiedaisy Drinks over a slice tahini-sesame cake and a flat white. Will be back.

Lovely, light and *lightly seasoned* homestyle chicken noodle soup from my latest review. This time, I’ve found myself at the lovely cafe 22 Uptown Waterloo.
At at time when factory food and committee-approved interiors and menus of chains and franchises seem to be taking over, it's nice to have these little independent spots that offer fresh-made, simple dishes.

So...I launched a Substack today, on A Day That Really Schmecks (aka Edna Staebler's birthday), what's traditional been my kitchen's new year. There's a recipe for cinnamon rolls, too :)
