I got an early birthday gift :)
My partner got me an entry level racing wheel for my birthday. I'm having a lot of fun with it! I've been playing some BeamNG.drive and doing some emulated PS3 games. I decided to try it in cyberpunk too and it just works! I tried it with Redout, too, great time but my goodness that game is hard. It's possible I'm stupid, but I couldn't get it working with Assetto Corsa so that game is still sitting in my library unplayed. My Linux machine is back up! Finally have my private PC up and running again after finishing my custom loop… and suddenly realising the GPU is dying. (RIP RX 7800xt) I’ve only had the card for a year so luckily I received a full refund… and was able to replace it with a 9070xt just before the prices shot up. I had to buy a new waterblock though and adjust my hard tubing … again.
It was a stressful bunch of weeks but I’m happy with the result. Here’s to hoping no more components fail, especially the spicy DDR5 RAM…Parts list:

Searching for some fans to test fit, I found a spare 240 #AIO. It fits rather well though the drive bay... water cooling this 2U, mad max style, totally plausible. So tempted.
Instead though, going with a pair of 40x10 and a pair of 40x20 fans across the top. Sealed off some of the grill to cut recirculation while it's apart.

I've always thought those computers submerged in mineral oil for cooling are pretty neat, but obviously there are some huge practical problems. I wonder, though: could you achieve a similar result by water-cooling all the key components and submerging the radiator in a large tank? You'd still have a massive heat sink, but no electronics would have to go in the liquid. As an added bonus, I imagine evaporation would cool the tank somewhat.
