Agree with everyone else here about hosting your own server, perhaps at
fedi.doh.wa.gov?One thing not mentioned by others yet, is that I wouldn't see a fediverse instance as a shared-service, a la #WATech. Each agency has independent needs and constraints that make centralized governance a poor long term plan.
Maybe someone else who's hosting their own instance can speak to the storage requirements, but I wouldn't think fedi is compute-heavy for a primarily outbound use-case.
