Samsung Health gets a major redesign in Galaxy Watches!
After the unveiling of the Galaxy Watch9 and the Watch Ultra2 smartwatches that have been revealed to the public in the Galaxy Unpacked July 2026 event alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8 foldables, Samsung Health has been overhauled on the Galaxy smartwatches, just like the design overhaul on the Galaxy phones.
According to a report made by SammyGuru, Samsung has started rolling out the Samsung Health update that changes the user interface to a more modern interface on the Galaxy smartwatches to match the look and feel of the updated Health app on phones. However, not all features will work as the One UI 9 Watch update didn’t start rolling out yet to all the existing Galaxy smartwatches.
Here’s your first look of the renewed interface for the Galaxy smartwatches:
As a reminder, the following new features are available for the newest smartwatches:
- Vitals: This feature analyzes five important bio-signals, which are: heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen. Those key factors mentioned above are then compared against a baseline that indicates true resting.
- Heart Health Score: This metric, which is updated daily, takes the Vascular Load score and combines it with the body composition data, and gives you a unified score as an output. This output is then used to identify the user’s habit of user’s long-term well-being, which gives you an overall heart health.
- Daily Cardio Load: This feature analyzes your accumulated cardiovascular strain by combining daily load and maximum training capacity and gives you recommendations of optimal training targets and rest times.
- Fitness Index: Ensures exercise routines are working by analyzing metrics, such as: heart rate, VO2 max, and daily steps against your peers. It comprises of body composition, strength, flexibility, endurance, and cardio. When those are taken into account, it delivers tailored content and personalized goals so that you can make continuous, targeted improvements.
- Hearing Health: Gives you personalized analytics by measuring the noise surrounding the Galaxy Watch. Those analytics give you recommendations to protect your ears, regardless of whether you’re in a loud, noisy place, such as festivals, or raising the music volume during the workout session.
- Upgraded capabilities: Antioxidant Index now gives you a clearer roadmap of a nutritional intake, with trend charts and daily history logs, and AGEs Index that now works in the background to capture automatic overnight measurements.

Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 will get 5 years of OS upgrades!
Samsung has finally unveiled the Galaxy Watch9 and the Watch Ultra2 series, which provide improvements and additions over the previous Galaxy Watch8 and Watch Ultra series. The latest smartwatches provide you with significant performance enhancements while also providing you with access to Gemini on your smartwatch running the latest One UI 9 Watch software.
Samsung has expanded software support for the newest Galaxy smartwatches revealed this year to include five years of OS upgrades, which makes your watch last longer while continuing to get further software updates, including the quarterly security upgrades. As per Sammy Fans, the Galaxy smartwatches will get continuous upgrades until July 31st, 2031.
Previously, Samsung has provided four years of OS upgrades for the older Galaxy Watch series, including the Galaxy Watch8 introduced last year. However, despite the Galaxy Watch4 having already completed its support lifecycle, it has received the One UI 8 Watch update and distributed to all countries last December.
This means that five generations of platform upgrades and five years of quarterly security upgrades will be released to the Galaxy Watch9, Galaxy Watch Ultra2, and future smartwatches, which increases longevity.
The Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra provides Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index, and Hearing Health, while providing you with upgraded capabilities. Besides the new features that were introduced, you’ll also be able to experience more reliable health tracking than the previous smartwatches, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon Watch Elite SoC being in use, with AI as the first focus.
You can now pre-order the Galaxy Watch9 and the Watch Ultra2 devices from the below links:
- Galaxy Watch9: Pre-order starting from $379.99
- Galaxy Watch Ultra2: Pre-order starting from $699.99

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will come to India soon
The upcoming Galaxy smartwatches are expected to be unveiled in this summer’s Galaxy Unpacked event that may be held on July 22nd, alongside the upcoming foldables that will also become available across markets. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is one of the upcoming Galaxy smartwatches that will succeed the first Galaxy Watch Ultra released in the summer of 2024.
However, there is a new pointer that led us to the fact that Samsung has just recently obtained the approval to release the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 in India. This means that the upcoming smartwatch will be available there for people to purchase it when it gets released. Earlier, the smartwatch passed China’s regulatory checkpoints.
According to 91mobiles, the smartwatch has just received the BIS certification! This means that the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 has passed all required regulatory checkpoints for the device to be approved to become available in the Indian market.
The 5G cellular version is expected to be available for the first time in the Galaxy Watch series, which means that 5G is now available independent of your phone. Additionally, Snapdragon Wear Elite is expected to power this upcoming Galaxy smartwatch, along with an on-device AI, which means that voice commands and health insights, along with other AI-powered features, will happen on the watch itself without your phone.
The bigger battery is also expected to come to your smartwatch, with a 784mAh battery cell powering your smartwatch to improve your battery life for your smartwatch.

CeX has an Ultra 2 (grade A) for sale at £700.... I could throw my belated birthday and Christmas money and trade in for Ultra 1 to get it.
Is it worth going for it? Maybe no Ultra 3 until 2025.
Tempted, make the Ultra 2 last until 2025........ but if a new Ultra does come out next year I'll be very cheesed off......
I've got to think that now I'm retired phones and watches will have to last 2-3 years (as a minimum)..........
Thoughts guys….
