Jak automatycznie aktualizować kontenery Docker?
Mogę kombinować skryptami, ale nie zawsze jest czas żeby je pisać. Szczególnie jeśli stawiam coś na szybko. Mogę przygotować sobie polecenia i wklejać je w terminal, ale to też zabiera czas i nie jest wygodne. Mogę też skorzystać z darmowego rozwiązania jakim jest Watchtower i zautomatyzować proces bez pisania wszystkiego samemu. W poście na blogu opisuję jak wdrożyć oraz w jakich przypadkach korzystam z Watchtowera.

Starship combat with #Manticore is also much more difficult than #ExtremeMode
Imagine, if you will, the total insanity of taking on a large incoming #Watchtower fleet with Manticore. I just splashed 26 ships in a mindbending 3D dogfight, with the hostiles using that extra dimension almost as well as I do, while being a lot tougher. I had to stay ahead of their fire and shake off missile lock immediately, looping in and through and around them to keep out of the crossfire, because (as I learned very early in trying Manticore) once shields are broken the ship is trashed after 1–3 hits.
It’s asymmetric warfare all the way, without any clear advantage to exploit but your own wits during daredevil maneuvers. You can’t adopt a brute force approach, because you can only have a max of 9 fleet ships so Watchtower will always have you outnumbered; since the Vanilla game only allows you to own 10 ships at a time, that’s where the mod caps it too (even with mods like #Darkstar installed that increase your owned fleet capacity IIRC).

@utzer @joseph I starteted around 2 years ago with friendica. Docker from the beginning, now I am at 2026.05 - and never ever I did a manually upgrade. That is always done by #watchtower. I never had a problem.

Ich dachte mir, ich wechsle von #Watchtower auf #WUD, aber das ist ja noch schlimmer. WUD updatet #Docker Container, die es nicht updaten soll, obwohl deren Versionen fest in den Compose Dateien verankert sind. -
Lol I've always seen people recommend #Watchtower as a useful tool to have if you deploy a bunch of #Docker containers in your #homelab - never thought it'd be useful until I now see the value of at least trying it out, then discovering that it's been archived since last year and its last container image published was 2 years ago.

n8n self-hosted в production: docker-compose, nginx, ретраи и три грабли
n8n запускается одной командой docker run и через пять минут вы видите логин-форму. Это маркетинговый ролик. Реальный production-конфиг - с persistent storage, корректными webhook-URL, ретраями, бэкапами PostgreSQL и мониторингом - выглядит сильно иначе. В этой статье - конфигурация, которую я держу на 12 проектах в течение полутора лет. Плюс три грабли, на которые наступал лично. Все примеры - community-edition, без коммерческой лицензии. На проде у меня сейчас крутится 2.19.5, но в image: стоит n8nio/n8n:latest плюс Watchtower (про него ниже) - он подтягивает свежий образ ночью. Внутри 2.x API/env-переменные стабильны, рекомендую :latest + Watchtower на проектах где простой 5 минут утром не критичен, и закреплённый минор ( :2.19.5 ) - на проектах где даунтайм нельзя.

Noticed my Watchtower instance isn’t sending email notifications anymore. It turns out that Dovecat changed the way they handle their config files? I had 10-auth.conf and 10-master.conf setup and now I have to do everything in dovecot.conf because my 10-auth.conf went missing. This is so annoying I spent so much time setting this all up and now I have to start over 😫

I’m not sure how I feel about the upcoming #FreeLanes update and #TerranArmada DLC
For starters, all the features announced for Free Lanes are already available in mods on the Creation Store; but admittedly most of these features will work better as native functionality
Unfortunately, Free Lanes will definitely break all the other mods in my load order, so I’m gonna have to go back to my vanilla playthrough come April 7th
I was expecting a Starborn-themed DLC, taking the battle against psychopathic trans-dimensional entities to the next extreme of multiverse madness; but who am I kidding? #Watchtower proved that there’s always room for pitting your will against the warmachine of space-Nazis, so I’m sure Terran Armada will be fun, and the new Incursion mechanic has a lot of promise
