Olen viime aikoina yrittänyt pelata #Wasteland3:ea. Kickstartasin aikoinaan, mutta kun peli lopulta tuli ulos niin elämä oli kiireistä enkä ehtinyt tarttua.

Saattaa olla että aika on kullannut muistot, mutta #Wasteland2 oli imho parempi: parempi GUI, paremmat hahmokaavakkeet (pelattuani 10 tuntia en vieläkään ymmärrä miten nämä toimii), ja tappelusysteemi vaikuttaa BG3:n jälkeen surullisen vanhentuneelta.

Lisäksi RPG-elementit ovat kevyemmät kuin kakkosessa.

Wasteland 3 has some crazy encounters that take forever to get done. I played through two such sections. One had a security system neutralization goal which made it much easier. The other involved using one’s vehicle to trigger pressure plates. At some points you had to put two characters on a pressure switch to lower barriers, making it possible for your vehicle to move forward. It had an infinite enemy spawning that only stopped at the objective point after a button press.

This is a real shame because post apocalyptic Colorado is intriguing; I find myself paying more attention to character dialogue than skimming. I love that there are so many ways to handle quests, the majority of all skills are used to bring about unique resolutions. Kiss Ass, Hard Ass, and Nerd Stuff are the ones that crop up the most. These options lead into other skill-based dialogues like First Aid, Weird Science, and occasionally Animal Whisperer.

Игра, в которую я не смог играть дольше трёх дней.
Скучно. При том, что я в самую первую "Ультима Онлайн' залипал до посинения, и в WoW. А эта скучная.

Весь геймплей сводится к постоянному апгрейду найденной брони и оружия. Новые штаны дали? Молодец, иди гринди материалы на карманы и повышения брони. Нагриндил? Что значит "ещё нет, подождите"? Вот тебе штаны круче, начинай сначала! А, теперь нагриндил и установил? А я тебе ещё +5 штаны в сундуке подкинул, иди дальше гриндить. Что значит "а можно я из старых штанов карманы переставлю в новые"? Нельзя! Мне надо, чтобы ты заебался гриндить, а не получал удовольствие от игры!

Перемудрили. Редкий и натужный социально-левый юмор не спасает идеологию.

Ну его нахуй, такую игру. С механикой тридцатилетней давности.

Apparently it's all RPGs all day here. Less "all", and more "this afternoon", because I ended up spending all morning cleaning out my desk and sorting screws.

Yeah, I forgot my ADHD meds, and today has been erratic. The kicker was discovering that I'd doubled up on a day count back in early October, meaning that instead of only needing to play one extra game per day for three days, it was two extra games today, and two tomorrow to hit my "400 new games" goal.

Anyway, turns out I've had a bunch of cool isometric RPGs just sitting in my unredeemed Steam keys spreadsheet; it's suddenly an embarrassment of riches, between Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, BG3, and now Wasteland 3.

Having not played the previous two Wasteland games, I thought it was some kind of post-apocalyptic FPS, but instead it's a post-apocalyptic RPG set in a nuclear winter affected Colorado.

The game starts out with a cut-scene talking about what happened to the Desert Rangers after the events of Wasteland 2 (and providing enough information for context), explaining that the Desert Rangers are on their way to Colorado to meet with "the owner of Colorado" to seek assistance for Arizona (I really need to look at a US map).

Looked at the map, got distracted. Anyway, things do not go according to plan, and you get ambushed on your way, and off the game goes.

Looks like I've got a lot of RPGs to play in 2024, because Wasteland 3 seems:

Skończyłem #Wasteland3 i w sumie... Nie mam żadnych odczuć po tej grze, co jest bardzo dziwne, bo na początku bawiłem się naprawdę świetnie, a fakt, że walka nie była tak absurdalnie przekręcona jak w xcom powodowało to, że nie wściekałem się za każdym razem jak dochodziło do starcia, w którym mój żołnierz mając 95% szans że trafi posyła dwie serie następujące po sobie gdzieś w niebo.

Jednak to chyba nie to było problemem tej gry, a fabuła, która na początku interesuje, każda rozmowa jest ciekawa, a decyzje mają wpływ na to, jak podejdziemy do zadania. Niestety im bliżej końca tym bardziej widać było że inXile słyszało trzask bicza nad głową, bo coraz częściej łapałem się na tym, że już w sumie nie obchodzi mnie to, w jaki sposób ktoś będzie próbował nas przegadać, skoro i tak koniec końców rozmowa kończyła się na "brać ich!", a odpowiedzi chwilę wcześniej ograniczał się do tego kto będzie miał inicjatywę.

Mam gdzieś poprzednie części, muszę sprawdzić czy tam też to była taka fabularna linia pochyła czy to ja już jestem za stary na gierki...

Z racji że #darmowegry są spoko i darmo to uczciwa cena to sobie odpaliłem #Wasteland3.

Na niskim poziomie trudności, bo ostatni raz jak w coś takiego grałem to był to Fallout Tactics na moim Pentiumie 300MHz i kurde nie wiedziałem że będę się tak dobrze bawił, a takie smaczki jak to powodują że chce mi się grać więcej.

At the risk of having to hand in my boardgame nerd license, I used some spaces for my vinyl record sized albums and a #Wasteland3 box.

As to the #boardgames themselves, my goal was to lay them flat and stack them, instead of having them sideways. Access to bottom games is more of a hassle this way, but the contents isn't all over when you open one.

Ho completato #wasteland3 in meno di 3 settimane. Feature che mi sarebbe stata completamente impossibile senza lo steam deck. Acquisto dell'anno, senza se e senza ma. Mi ha restituito l'accesso al gaming come non riuscivo ad avere da anni.
