  1. You know I went to the doctor
    Said I'm feelin kinda rough
"Let me break it to you, son
    Your shit's fucked up"

I said My shit's fucked up?
I don't see how! He said

  2. WARREN ZEVON
    Excitable Boy
    1978 Canada pressing

The man, the myth, the legend gets last spin of the night.

Truly one of the greatest songwriters to ever walk the Earth, and a flawless album front to back.
    It’s actually quite embarrassing.
There isn’t a song on this record that’s not great.
    Not GOOD…
    GREAT.

A true one of a kind talent the likes we’ll never see or hear again.

If you’ve never seen it, go on YouTube and watch his final appearance on Letterman.
Zevon was dying, and Dave gave him the WHOLE show that night.

Even on death’s door, he performed immaculately, and in the interview was funny, self-deprecating and fully the Warren we’ve always known.
It’s a remarkable and incredibly emotional watch.

    Excitable boy, they all said.

    He sure was.

    Just the greatest.

  4. Wednesday night. Warren Zevon is always good, to me. Popping this one up, because I hadn't seen this performance before? Audio is a bit stuffy, but hey: it's live!

  5. "Poor Poor Pitiful Me" is a #rock song written and first recorded by American musician #WarrenZevon in 1976. With change in the lyrics from male to female perspective, it was made a hit twice after Zevon’s recording: first as a top-40 hit for #LindaRonstadt in 1976, then two decades later by #TerriClark, whose version topped the Canadian #country charts and reached the country top five in the U.S.

  8. I was in the top 0.25% of Warren Zevon listeners on YTM this month, which I will wear like a badge of honor.

  9. Listened to Warren Zevon's final concert which just came out as an album this year, really fantastic acoustic performance at the Edmonton Folk Festival, hearing some of these songs in a way they were rarely ever performed. So good, check it out.

  10. Today's Tune Tuesday has a theme of Animal Calls.

What about a werewolf? Does that count as an animal?

    Well, I'm counting it.

  13. A nighty night jam that was Warren Zevon’s on his self-titled album released a couple of years before “Excitable Boy” and was a hit for Linda Ronstadt on her “Simple Dreams” album. Guess I’m still kinda celebrating WZ’s induction into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.
