Some #showers and a few #thunderstorms have popped up in northwest #Wisconsin and the #UpperPeninsula. We are monitoring if any contain strong #winds and small #hail.
Elsewhere in the region, it's a #sunny #weather day with the #warmest #temperatures yet this year.

With #meteorological #winter nearing an end, I'm beginning to take a closer look as what is shaping up to be the #warmest winter on record for the #Northland.
One reason for this record; it's hasn't been as #cold as it should be at #night this season.

If it feels balmy, that's because #temperatures are the #warmest they have been in over a week. It does come with more #clouds and a few #flurries in spots.
It is also #windy, especially south of Highway 2. Be prepared to hang on tight when driving.

It's the #warmest it has been all week, thanks to some #sunshine at times. This along with calmer #winds are helping wind #chill levels improve.
#Lake #effect #snow #showers still continue along parts of the #SouthShore, but that threat will be ending in the near future.

The #record #heat continues across the region, with today being the #warmest it will be this holiday weekend.
The #Minnesota side has been #wet with #rain today. Everyone will see the #showers by tonight.
A heads up that #ChristmasDay will remain wet, with #mixed #precipitation likely for the Minnesota side.

NORTHLAND FORECAST FOR DECEMBER 23 & 24, 2023:
The #Christmas #holiday weekend will be one of the #warmest on #record for the #Northland, with #highs in the 40s and #lows in the 30s.
We remain #dry for Saturday, but #precipitation from a large #storm system starts falling on Christmas Eve. Nearly all of it will be #rain, but some #snowflakes could mix in on the #Minnesota side.

When the discussion is whether the #temperature record is on Plicetocene scale of Neocene scale - you know things are broken beyond a simple fix. -
