hey you may have noticed wanderingwires is down and images were down before that. I have be struggling to afford the cost of running the server for some time (thank you to all who have donated though!!) and I'm debating whether to throw in the towel for now. however, if anyone would like to "take over" the instance, I would be happy to discuss this and how it would shake out. I love fedi and running my own instance has been really fun but it might be time for that to come to an end sadly. still debating tho

given the overwhelming number of personal reports of grooming and the frankly disturbingly immature response from Ashten, wanderingwires will be defederating woem.men. I don't make this decision lightly, as I have mutuals there and I'm sure other users do too. However, we must maintain zero tolerance of this kind of behavior. We will be pulling the plug in 15 days. if you are still on woem.men and would like to federate with us, please move to a different instance. -

#wanderingwires aaa so sorry everyone! the database is still being weird ocasionally and the backups are failing for some reason so i had to restore from an old backup. so sorry, we're working on making this more stable!

AAA so sorry! the database had a big fuck up and i had to restore from backup :( I'm still learning! but now that i have automatic backups and tweaked some settings, i think this will happen a lot less. so sorry everyone! #wanderingwires :wanderingwires:

#wanderingwires so since this instance exploded after I had to change object store providers (I didn't know you had to proxy s3 to your own domain for it to not blow up in your face like this), I made a new domain for the instance at wanderingwires.net (sorry for taking another domain but since it's basically the same domain i thought it was fine). I'll keep this one up for a little while just in case 1) it does fix itself and 2) if not allow time for folks to migrate over. Sorry again I'm still really new at this but I've definitely learned a lot and am dedicated to being a better fedi admin in the future. In other news though, follow me over on @[email protected]!
