Die Titelfigur will sich nicht der väterlichen Ordnung fügen, will nicht auf der Insel bleiben, sondern in See stechen, um auf diese Weise auch die Natur und ihr Volk, deren Herrscherin sie einmal sein wird, wiederzubeleben. Disney variiert einmal mehr die Heldenreise. Nun ist die Realverfilmung in den Kinos gestartet, in den Hauptrollen zeigen sich Dwayne Johnson und Catherine Laga’aia. Das ist aber auch fast der einzige Realitätsbezug, den es gibt. Ja, die Schauspieler existieren wirklich.
