Our #wallflowers have come into their own now. I love their rich colours & their beautiful #scent is quite heady when the sun shines on them. They're members of the #brassica family & when you cut their stems there's a distinct whiff of #cabbage in the air!

One of several, bright yellow #wallflowers started blooming this week. These are under our large cedar tree - in a well mulched rock garden bed. It was delightful to see their flowers emerge again. Most of our other wallflowers bloomed all through Summer & stopped in October. They smell amazing!

This morning I was awoken briefly by the dog and I had The Way by Fastball which then morphed into One Headlight by The Wallflowers playing in my head. Really weird, I haven't thought of either of these songs in over a decade, they were both popular around the same time so maybe that's it?
Anyway when I got up later I had Machine Heart by Icarus in my head

It’s been a colder Spring than in recent years here, making me spend less time in the garden than last year - plus a good third of it is about to be demolished to make way for some new building work. But you are right about the lack of accuracy. I dig LCD Soundsystem but I definitely listen to other artists more. One Headlight from the #Wallflowers at number 3 is embarrassingly true.

Winter is coming, but it doesn't have to be without FLOWERS.
Most of my clients' flowerbeds need to be deer-resistant, and I've found Erysimum (wallflowers) to be just as reliable as snapdragons and foxgloves here in Georgia (Zone 7B). They'll bloom now until it gets really cold, but the big show starts in March and runs through May when all the bulbs are blooming.
