Huh. I don't use #Google accounts for much but I'm sure glad I don't since it seems locking random devices out of logging in for some months is a normal way of working for them.

Goodbye, Pokemon Go, it was fun while it lasted. I will now be focusing on playing #Walkscape then I guess.

Enjoying the #walkscape beta right now. Mobile-Fantasy-RPG where action points are gathered with real-world walking.

Now I found out that their beautiful background art is AI generated, ripping off some unknown artists by copying their style.

But I also see the problem: With MS-Paint-quality placeholder art, I wouldn't have given another look at the game and paying an artist a fair price would mean forcing the dev to start this off with a full blown business loan, probably killing the idea.

Since I basically had to lay down for the past 2 weeks I really want to get back to being active again every day. The goal is 11K steps a day.

@apel linked me to https://walkscape.app a few weeks ago and I've decided to throw some money at them to try their Closed Beta. I really like the idea and I'm curious to see where they'll bring the project. #WalkScape

Playing #walkscape now!

Well, almost sedentary, will have to try doing more tomorrow. Walking around at night is a not much, even here.

Finally got an invite to the #WalkScape beta! I'm hoping this will be a way to keep #walking fun for me, which has historically been the key to keeping consistent. That, and having buddies.

So I bought into the #walkscape beta ($3) and have been playing it a bit, still early but it’s fun so far! It’s like playing #osrs by #walking. I like that I can spend the work afternoon walking from the forest to the city and then cut planks as I go about my evening!

@schamppu 's #RuneScape -inspired #fitness #gamification entitled #WalkScape is so cool.

I just started today, and even though the #game is only in closed beta, and the features are basic, the concept and mechanics are different from the other fitness gamification apps I've played/playing.

It did capture the feels of an #MMO and combined it with fitness.

Again, I'm just a newbie, only started today. I haven't thoroughly explored the game. I just walked.

You don't even need to run the app in the background, it will collect the steps your phone recorded the next time you open the game.

Features I'm waiting for (not sure if it's planned, again, I'm a new player):
1. Sync with Google Fit or Health Connect. This way we can use the "steps" from our sports watch instead of the phone. I think it's also easier since the Dev doesn't have to add support for Product X and Service Z.

Health Connect is good for those who prefer privacy, as Health Connect stays in the unit (unless the user syncs it with Fit or other apps).

Google Fit is, well, cloud-based. (Then again, most sports watch users are using their brand's cloud-based service anyway, and are more likely sync'd to Fit. 😆)

2. Guilds/clans. Because why not? Hehe.

3. Quests/missions.

It might be possible to add quests wherein even if we're not moving (like those in work-from-home), we can do something. Nothing game changing, because again, you have to move move move!

Of course, the majority of the quests require moving.

4. More races!

Elf
Half-elf
Dwarves
Vampires

I dunno, any race that no one can claim copyright is good. (I mean, we can't use kinder because that's DragonLance.) And each race has some pros and cons.

5. Foes?

Say, during a game event, we have to, for example, collect 10,000 steps in a week to ensure we are ahead of an enemy chasing us? If we fail, there's a penalty.

And the story of the event moves forward depending on the total steps of everyone in a kingdom.

Anyway. I see great potential in this game.

Oh. I'm very curious about the game lore.
