This morning I walk the dogs.

I begin in the pre-dawn.
I am rarely awake at this moment.
The remnant of what was is fading.
The possibilities of what will be
are beginning.

I miss so much when I am asleep.

Returning upon the cold path,
our breath misting in the air,
I find that I am facing the
warm sun.
