Thank you Wakefield Trinity, I've lost my accumulator ☹️
I had Wakefield Trinity, Wigan Warriors, and Toulouse Olympique to win.

There was hope for a long while but we only have ourselves to blame for that loss. Far too many soft penalties. Two strong, even teams but Leeds are grudgingly deserved winners.

Matt Ellis has to drink his Guinness from a plastic pint glass just like everyone else.

20-0 up at the half against Castleford and it should probably be close to double that. Nice.

10-0 down to then win it 58-10. Absolutely devastating performance from Wakey against Catalans in the second half. Beautiful dominance.
-
Faatili's crawl to score a try with two Catalans players hanging on him was absolutely hilarious.
-
52-12. Very satisfactory.
-
Ah, not to be. Good close game, though.
-
Lovely to see Chris Kamara there. Big connections with Wakefield but he's a living legend here in Portsmouth too.

Being a neutral in the Wakefield Trinity Vs Wigan Warriors game, I'm really enjoying it.

We have pies (steak and gravy). We have pints (local beers in our new Guatemalan craft ale glasses). We have Wakey on the TV (currently winning).

Phew. Struggled to score, struggled to kick, and fair play to Hull for a lot of annoying goal line defensive plays that mostly kept us out. Tough match, but a win's a win for Wakey.
-
Commentator's description of one of the Hull players:
"Built like a bookie's pen."
That's a new one for me, but I like it.
-
Comedy defending from Hull at the end of the first half to gift us a try but it's been a niggly, frustrating, error-prone game so far. Powell's anguish in the stands shared by us all. Tied at 10-10.
-
Well, it was always going to be a tough job to beat Warrington before their traditional mid-season hilarious collapse.
-
Did our absolute best to lose that but hung on for a win. Somehow. Well done, Wakey, but that was a close thing. Too close.
-
Not a single person on the field thought that was a try, not even the try-scorer, but we'll definitely take that.
-
Oof. That was a tense finish. Catalans barely hold on, Hull lose out on the play-offs and Wakefield are in before they even have to play tomorrow.
And relax.
-
Caius Faatili having a great impact against Huddersfield early on.
-
Get the fuck in there! You absolute beauty Lino! What a game, what a way to win it!
-
Mad game at the moment. Huddersfield starting both halves well but then the tenth minute comes around and they collapse. Which is nice as a Wakey fan. 42-10 up at the moment, still twenty minutes to go.
-
Hull KR just had far more than us in that second half after a close, competitive first 40. A few silly mistakes here and there. The Robins are a good team. Those two quick scores after the half changed the game and we couldn't adapt to it.
-
Those little periods in games where the ability to tackle falls out of every player's head are frustrating but I can't be too disappointed by this performance overall despite the widening gap in the scoreline now.
-
After our win last week over Wigan it would be nice to think we could travel to the league leaders today and get something here too, but realistically it's not particularly likely. Hull KR are a bit of a force to be reckoned with this season. Hoping it's a good game, whatever the result.

Oh, yes! 16-10 win over second place and current champions, Wigan. Thank you very much.
