Wintry days come and go- a couple of melting days, then fresh snowfall and a return to cold, rinse and repeat.. the time of growth and flowers is still rather distant, but these days have their own beauty.. Moose tracks: they were checking Castilleja seed heads for edibility- conclusion: Nope!

Spring in Rhône valley. We will still have to wait a few months until our beloved Rhône valley will look like this but we hardly can't wait to enjoy these peaceful mornings with a relaxed run along the small waterways through the vineyards, when the first rays of sunlight touch the mountains.

Today’s photo shows a magnificent tree clinging on the edge of a short cliff. The shot was taken at the University of Nottingham campus. Beautiful winter light and a background of blue sky help to really emphasise the intricate web of branches reaching out over the void.
