I feel like I‘m losing it today. Lots of threads about #threads and its total division. Very few are actually saying „its probably going to suck, lets see what my instance does“.

Instead it is those fully against #federation who say #meta is the devil and threads will #eee the #fediverse.

Or those who fully #shill and #astroturf for meta and for some reason all use the term #waitandsee which feels coordinated to me.

Am I going off the deep end here or are folks being paid to sow #division ?

TL;DR: the damage that will come to the #Fediverse when large #waitAndSee instances defederate from #P92 will be immensely worse than the one that works come from #preemptiveDefederation. And the damage that will come to it if they refuse to defederate even after the shit starts flying will be even greater.

@atomicpoet @kissane Seems like a lot of unnecessary handwringing AT THE PRESENT.

Let Mastodon work to become its best self at the moment, while BlueSky works on becoming its best self. When BlueSky turns on federation and ceases being a shinier Truth Social, we can do an honest comparison between the two (currently) different systems.

Maybe BlueSky will teach Mastodon some lessons that can be used to improve onboarding, and Mastodon can teach BS how to federate better.
