  3. The USA is lost as a nation until labor remembers that it has no friends in the C suite. It is an adversarial relationship, and we've let them gaslight us into devaluing our own contribution.

Your immigrant neighbor is not the problem. The stay-at-home parent who just needs health insurance is not the problem. The trans librarian at your local library is not the problem.

The people who amass unimaginable wealth and still, at every opportunity, pick our pockets through wage theft--THEY are the problem, and they are working around the clock to make sure you never see it that way.

  4. CW: Long thread/13

Then came the #neoliberal turn, and 40 years of #WageStagnation, increased inequality, and corporate rule.

Anything that can't go on forever will eventually stop. Finally, *finally*, we have reached a turning point in labor, with public approval for unions at levels not seen since the Carter administration and *thousands* of strikes and protests breaking out across the country:

  5. purpose of causing a tranche of the work force into #unemployment . Like that is not the quiet part. The Feds say that out loud and they call it "causing pain". Did I miss anything?

The Fed's WANT more unemployment because it will decrease worker bargaining power thus tamping down wage increases AFTER 30 years of #WageStagnation . So far am I miss stating any of the points?

So this is the part where I get confused. MY take away from this is that what the "authorities" consider a well oiled

  6. #UK #WageStagnation #Inflation: "Fifteen years of wage stagnation has left British workers £11,000 worse off per year, according to research shared exclusively with BBC Panorama.

The figures come from the Resolution Foundation think tank, which focuses on low-to-middle income households.

It also found typical UK household incomes have fallen further behind those in Germany. In 2008, the gap was over £500 a year, now it is £4,000.

The Treasury says the UK economy is more resilient than many predicted.

In his Budget speech last week, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt acknowledged there is still enormous pressure on people's finances.

In recent months, wages have failed to keep up with rising costs, meaning that millions of Britons have, in effect, had a pay cut."
