Right now the World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week 2023 #WAAW takes place until Nov 24th. #NFDI4Microbiota supports the microbiology community with access to data, analysis services, data/metadata standards and training. This will help for ex. to learn more about AMR and to predict future drug resistances. Only by sharing and making data available for the research community, we can overcome the challenges posed by the global development of infectious diseases and antibiotic resistances.

One promising solution are programmable antibiotics, ASOs, studied by the laboratory of HIRI Director Jörg Vogel. They target #mRNAs needed by bacteria to synthesize new proteins & replicate. 🧬
