Also decided to delete all VSTs by 1K multimedia, who seem to be singlehandedly responsible for cluttering up my vst folders in Cubase. Not sure why Amplitube gets recommended so much, OK it's free but all of 1K's software is a too-obvious attempt to sell you other stuff. #VSTs #musicproduction

A couple of days ago I got an email offer from Positive Grid to get Bias FX 2 for free, so of course I signed up for it. The offer was only good for 2 days, so I jumped on it.

I use both a pedalboard and #VSTs depending on my mood. I already have the bx_bassdude Amp Sim, and I'm completely happy with that, so I really don't need the Bias Amps. But having the effects would be a nice addition.

So the first attempt at recording guitar was a bit mixed.

Playing through VSTs sounded awesome, way more effects than I can get with pedals.

However, the latency was obscene - almost a second. Not sure if that is due to the old NI Kore interface, the old win7 laptop or settings in Reaper. Also a lot of hiss when I turned up the gain on the amp sim but clean was fine.

That said am finally upgrading the laptop so hoping that will solve a lot of the issues
