@psychicparrot42 Give Mi-03 a try, it's one of the few with a sequencer, scalable UI too. Goes about the bibbly bobbly entirely fine, pay-what-you-want.
One other might be BassMatrix, but haven't tried that out myself.
Out of the non-sequencer ones (synth only) there's JC303, based on open303 like the BassMatrix.

After weeks of procrastination, I've finally mapped a set of Control Change numbers to the various bits of MIDI hardware in the studio, so I can control parameters on my Arturia softsynths without needing to have separate templates for each. I've tested it with the Juno 106 VSTi which worked fine but there are a couple of things I need to remap and edit. It has been been annoyingly time consuming, but seems to be working in principle.

I said my track had "less voltage" than its inspiration today, by which I meant that it sounded less electrically dirty and more stable than the original. I had planned to "downgrade" the sound quality on my track at the end of the day, but there was no time. On Plantasia you can virtually *feel* the ohm.
That reminded me that there's a great, free synth that replicates some of that feeling beautifully and easily: #Pendulate by #NewfangledAudio. Give it a go!

I have just today emailed #AudioModelling to ask if the, now more than 6 year old tutorial, on installing their #VSTi under #Wine v1.6 is still relevant. It’s a lovely document, but seems like it could be a bit out of date.

I have an outboard synth that I use mostly as a synth but, sometimes, I use it as the keyboard as a midi-controller for a VSTi.
Oddly, even as that, the VSTi sounds brighter than if I use the dedicated midi controller.Why the fuck is that..?

Been playing around with Steinberg's free X-Stream Spectral Timestretch synth. Pretty cool synth, that let's you import samples & twist them around. Needs latest Halion Sonic (also free).
Can really twist sounds in interesting ways.

Я смог запустить FL Studio и любые VST плагины в GNU Linux, при этом экранировав всё это дело от основной системы! Теперь я могу безопасно писать музыку, играть на гитаре с крутыми эффектами и крутить баст-бустед звуки друзьям в Дискорд и Телеграм. Хотите так же , но не проходя через ту боль и не теряя столько же нервов, сколько потерял я ? Установить FL Studio на Linux

Cherry Audio just released an emulation of the Korg PS-3300, a semi-modular synth from the late 70's. No shade meant here for CA, as I'm a happy user of a few of their products, & their prices are generally reasonable compared to similar products from some others.
However, I know quite well that sometimes even cheap can be too expensive, so if that's the case for you, you may be happy to learn that Full Bucket has a free PS-3300 sim.
