    Patreon Is trying to argue that Federal laws don't apply to them.

    The VPPA Video Privacy Protection act, means that companies that host media, can't disclose a user's viewing history without their consent.

    Patreon did exactly this, got caught, got sued, and is now trying to argue that their profit-motivated business practice is protected by the first amendment.
