For those who couldn't join us at the #VotingVillage at #DEFCON33 earlier this month, videos of all the talks are online in this YouTube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLltrHIXltfGLotq79TBgIK9QK4O29Z2FF
We had a great program covering a wide range of topics on the theory and practice of US election security.
I'll post a few highlights of more general interest in the thread that follows.

A couple notes: The room audio on the first day was abysmal because the LV Convention Center failed to enable the room speakers. (Sigh.) So if you were there and had trouble hearing, the recorded audio in the videos is much better!
There's an additional talk video in the playlist at the end, provided by a speaker who was unable to obtain a visa to attend in person (double sigh).

These are just a few selected highlights. We had a great (if exhausting) time putting on the Village this year, and we hope you find the program interesting and helpful, whether you joined us in person or online.

It was a great program, and we're proud of every talk, but here are a few highlights of general interest.

Thanks to everyone - speakers, attendees, volunteers - who participated in a terrific #VotingVillage at @defcon last weekend! I think it may have been our best event yet.
A few audio glitches have delayed some of the sessions, but I expect we'll have the videos of all the talks up on our YouTube channel in a week or so. Watch this space for links.
Now I will take a long post-conference nap.

We are pleased to announce the final* schedule of talks for the 2025 Symposium on Election Security at the DEF CON Voting Village, August 8-10, in quiet, sleepy Las Vegas.
Hope to see you there!

Nation’s best #hackers found #vulnerabilities in #votingmachines — but no time to fix them
Hackers at #DEFCON identified vulnerabilities in #voting machines used in #US #election2024, but fixes are unlikely to be implemented before Nov 5, organizers said. "#VotingVillage" event held away from the main conference floor due to security concerns, drew #election officials and cybersecurity experts. Organizers plan to release a detailed report on the vulnerabilities found.
