@futurebird Oregon has had a vote by mail system since 2000 so voting is easy for most. Ballots are mailed to all registered voters automatically. A voters' pamphlet with candidates & ballot measures is sent before ballots.
Completed ballots are returned at drop boxes (encouraged this year) or by mail. You can track your ballot to confirm it was received.
It's *possible* to vote in person if you need to or want to but hardly anyone does.

There’s just one tiny, inconvenient piece of context: in 2025, She was the chief sponsor of HB 3872 intended to change Oregon’s default voting system from vote-by-mail to in-person voting on Election Day, requiring voters to show ID at polling locations to get & cast a ballot. Thankfully, the bill died in the House Rules Committee.

As of Jan 2024, NY now allows mail-in early ballots without any excuse. This was signed into the budget bill by the Governor last year. It's permanent - not tied to any emergency covid things or anything.
