  1. @nazokiyoubinbou Who's they? Certain states? Maybe, I don't know.

But many states, like Oregon, were suing to prevent changes from happening. They didn't do anything to follow the executive order.

OR Attorney General Dan Rayfield said:

"What does this mean for Oregon voters? It means we’ll continue to vote in November just like we have for decades, with a Vote By Mail system that is safe, secure, and accurate."

  6. Quote:

"Voting by mail has already begun in states including Alabama, North Carolina and Wisconsin, with more soon to follow — including Western states such as Hawaii, Oregon and Washington, where elections are held primarily or fully with mail ballots.

Under the still-blocked USPS plan, which followed an executive order by Trump, states would have had to turn over lists of voters' names and addresses and have certain specific barcodes on ballot envelopes…"

  7. From NPR (no paywall)

"The Supreme Court rejects Trump's mail voting restrictions for this year's midterms"

    npr.org/2026/09/14/nx-s1-59621

"The Supreme Court has ruled against President Trump, rejecting his efforts to enact new mail-in voting restrictions for the midterm election.

The ruling released Monday by the high court means the U.S. Postal Service is expected to continue delivering ballots as usual."

  8. Oops, the table has an error -- they forgot to label Oregon as an all-mail voting state.

Here's the note they added for all the other all-mail voting states:

"All-mail voting state. Every registered voter is automatically mailed a ballot."

  9. From Democracy Docket:

"When does my state mail ballots to voters?"

    democracydocket.com/news-alert

You can search for your state in this table.

"One-third of the electorate, or 47 million people, cast their ballots by mail in 2024."

I don't know if that one-third includes folks who got a ballot in the mail but took the completed ballot to a drop box. That's my usual practice.

  10. > A captured EAC could conceivably start to do the dirty work right away, under the direction of loyalists the White House plans to parachute into the commission. What’s more, they could rewrite state-specific instructions on the voter forms to create registration traps and onerous requirements, confusing instructions, translation issues, and on and on. ...

Trump may think he found a Trojan horse. What he actually found is a trap of his own making. Every action he tries to take to abuse the EAC will be met with resistance and tie him up in litigation as the clock ticks to November. The president’s corruption may be brazen, but it’s also sloppy and short-sighted. And we’re going to keep fighting it in the courts, in the states, and in the open, where schemes like this one go to die.

  11. "Republicans sue Georgia’s largest counties in bid to restrict mail ballot return access"

    democracydocket.com/news-alert

"The lawsuits challenge county policies that allow voters to return absentee ballots at advance voting or alternate locations. In plain terms, Republicans are asking the court to block counties from giving voters more places to safely hand in their mail-in ballots."

  12. CW: Occasional Foul Language. Always Political.

The feds are quietly building a blueprint to weaponize the postal system against mail-in ballots right before the midterms, and the courts just declined to stop it. Let's break down the administrative map they're leaving active. 🧵 (1/7)

  13. "It’s Election Day in Oregon and Southwest Washington"

    opb.org/article/2025/11/04/ore

This story has general info about deadlines and locations for returning completed ballots (both states automatically mail ballots to registered voters)

Personal note from me: If you live in Washington County, Oregon, please vote yes on the Libray levy! (Measure 34-345)
