"Oregon became the first state in the nation to vote exclusively by mail following a 1998 ballot measure that passed with broad support. That policy has led to the state having among the highest rates of eligible voting-age residents who cast ballots."
Everyone I know in Oregon - Republican, Democrat, or other - loves our vote by mail system.

🚨 Oregon voters 🚨
The last day to register to vote is Tuesday, October 15!
You can register, or check an existing registration, at the Oregon Secretary of State website:
https://sos.oregon.gov/voting-elections/Pages/default.aspx
Ballots are sent to all registered voters by mail and arrive 2-3 weeks before the election. The OPB voter's guide has more info (partial screenshot below):

@beadsland Sorry you went through this!
I'm lucky that Oregon is a full "vote by mail" state since I can't vote in person (illness). Ballots are automatically sent to all registered voters.
A tiny % of ballots are cast in person, but most vote at home and return ballots via mail or take them to drop box.
It works well for my disability, but others need different voting methods. Video series on accessible voting:

@flexghost Eight states plus Washington, DC, have "all mail voting" (aka, vote by mail or vote at home). It's pretty hard to keep up the facade that there's a problem with allowing *everyone* to vote by mail, not just disabled folks.
And by the way, vote by mail is not accessible to all disabled folks. Voters with certain disabilities need other accessible methods. One size does *not* fit all.
