▪️ The Volyn Massacre* is the bloodiest episode of the Polish-Ukrainian conflict in the 20th century.

▪️ The Polish side retaliated in 1943, causing a significant number of casualties among the Ukrainian population.

Police in Volyn region captured individuals who were involved in helping others to avoid military service by taking bribes of 3000 US dollars. Among the detainees were a deputy commander of a military unit and officials from local draft offices. They promised to remove the wanted status of conscripts who didn't show up for military service, allowing them to avoid conscription.
