  1. Mutual Aid Request Roundup 10-Sept-2026

I am writing from Indonesia, where I refuse to make survival conditional on someone having enough savings to endure an emergency. Public responsibility and mutual aid belong in the same conversation. We can demand the resources people deserve while moving what we have towards those asking now. Read the appeals, contribute directly, and carry an original request into a circle that can help fund it.

  4. RIP V3 - This video was recorded by the V3 camera, located on the south rim of Halema‘uma‘u crater at the summit of Kīlauea volcano on the Island of Hawai‘i. The camera, located in a hazardous closed area of Hawai‘I Volcanoes National Park, was buried by tephra from an inclined lava fountain between 9:55 and 9:57 am HST on December 6, during episode 38 that began this morning at 8:45 am.

  6. For volcano fans, the Kilauea volcano in the "west Halemaʻumaʻu crater" complex on the big Island of Hawaii is back erupting

I've diddled around with the slider at the bottom of the frame; this link *might* be to the start of the most recent, spectacular eruption

For those who have been following along this is all still down at the southern side of the Halemaʻumaʻu crater

(I tried to get the time stamp on this URL correct; scrub back and forth to move back in time to about 4:29:00. And yes, you're going to have to click through to effing YouTube...)

A #VolcanicEruption in southwestern Iceland has once again forced the evacuation of local residents & the internationally known #BlueLagoon geothermal spa, the national broadcaster RUV reported.

  8. It sounds like an April-fools joke but the eruption I mentioned as imminent on the 1st of April ended after only six hours. I don't remember any volcanic event that was over so quickly. Though I don't think it is unique in any way.

  9. In all likelihood we are getting the eighth volcanic eruption of this cycle of eruptions near Grindavík today. Maybe in a few minutes.

  10. Neolithic ‘sun stones’ sacrificed in Denmark to revive the sun after volcanic eruption

Around 4,900 years ago, Neolithic communities on the Danish island of Bornholm ritually buried hundreds of engraved stones, so-called “sun stones,” in a remarkable act to counter drastic climate changes caused by a massive volcanic eruption...
