20:00 Soft-Boy Turkish Oil Wrestling
Ozan is a Turkish man who failed at toxic masculinity. This combination of stand-up comedy and performance art is a high-energy crash course in cultural subversion and absurd physical clowning. He performed this show at Fusion Festival and various places in Berlin, and now he wants to bring a violently funny, unapologetically weird celebration of modern masculinity to Amsterdam!

20:30 tea and land stories
Tea and Land Stories, Stories of the cultivation of the cultivator. a middle play (Orta Oyunu, Commedia dell'Arte or what ever ) based on an unwritten script. Kind of a non-musical, it is open to imagination, interactions, and improvisation. “Imagine; One day somebody wanted to drink some tea. they just went to others land, end.” No worries, this is an imaginary story, the only reality is tea. Tea and land is a storytelling performance with melodies and memories while serving some tea to digest stories.

21:00 Sesten Sese: A Curated Evening of Shared Voices
This evening brings together three musical practices connected through voice, community, and collective memory. Opening with the intimate songwriting of Anllel Maria and Doğa Ak, followed by the mother–child musical practice of Dilden Dile, and concluding with the collective polyphony of Queer Choir Amsterdam, the programme moves between queer community, Anatolian folk traditions, diasporic memory, couragous worlds and intergenerational exchange. Together, these performances invite audiences to experience singing as a living practice of gathering, listening, and carrying stories forward. Doğa and Allel Doğa Ak and Anllel Maria are a kuir duo of songwriters and singers from Turkey and Ecuador, currently based in the Netherlands. Blending their voices through vulnerable songwriting, they compose in English, Spanish, and Turkish.
Their songs explore intimacy, brave other worlds, and shared futures, inviting audiences to tune in, to themselves, to one another, and to the worlds that can be imagined together. Opening the evening, their performance offers a gentle invitation into the programme. Queer Choir Amsterdam Queer Choir Amsterdam is an artistic initiative and a safer space where various queer and trans identities and voices are celebrated and heard. The choir performs original compositions, written by its members and arranged by conductor Vera Morais, in which soundscapes, improvisation and audience participation often play an important role. The choir's songs are rooted in both politics and introspection and allow for authentic forms of self-expression. During rehearsals and performances, choir members give voice to stories they want to share and to ideas about the futures they wish to imagine together. By bringing together many different voices, the choir not only creates new harmonies, but also celebrates the diversity and expressive potential of the human voice.
For this evening, Queer Choir Amsterdam will perform a selection of original repertoire, moving between playful, joyful songs and works rooted in solidarity, resistance, care, and collective imagination.
Dilden Dile is a three year old practicing band rooted in singing, listening, and making music together. It exploresinheritance, memory, language, belonging, and the ways traditions continue to transform through the people who carry them.
Over three years of singing and playing together, Meli, Tuncay and Aydin, usually accompanied by Mürset (Meli’smother) have come to understand music as a language beyond words. Rooted in Anatolian folk traditions, particularly those of the Alevi tradition, while embracing the rich legacy of politically engaged songwriting from Turkey and Kurdistan, Dilden Dile movesthrough the musical worlds of artists including Kazım Koyuncu, Selda Bağcan, Âşık Mahzuni Şerif, Âşık Veysel, and Ahmet Kaya, with a particular affinity for the musical landscapes of the Black Sea (Karadeniz).
At its heart, Dilden Dile is an invitation to gather around songs that have travelled across generations and regions.Turkish-speaking audiences are especially invited to sing along, remember, and recognize melodies that may already live within them. In this shared act of listening and singing, the songs return to what they have always been: living traditions, shared, transformed,and passed from voice to voice.

Solidarity Voku against a social housing eviction. Concert with Les French Fries, Alex Riey & Guillaume Square Neck

Come with us to eat delicious vegan food from 7pm onwards, no reservation. Between 8:30pm and 10pm, music on the stage. Free entrance, donations more than welcome to support the 2 touring bands.
The money of the voku will go to help support M, a 24-year-old currently threatened with eviction. M. arrived in France alone at the age of 15 and was taken in charge by the state's children services. He managed to find work in a bakery at night and was granted access to social housing. He also obtained a residence permit but at his last renewal, even though he had submitted all the required documents on time, the state's service did not issue him a temporary receipt (which allows him to work) while waiting for his new residence card. Because of this, M. lost his job and hasn't been able to pay rent for the past several months.
He is now threatened with eviction by the social housing company. In light of this urgent situation, friends were able to gather money to lend to M. so that he could pay his rents of the last months and go to a court, where the judge will decide whether or not to cancel the eviction order. This voku will help reimbourse the money his friends lent him to avoid eviction. Thanks for your support!!

Since June 2005, Joe's Garage is an autonomous squatted political social center, a meeting place in the Transvaal neighborhood for squatters and non-squatters, subsidy free, not for profit, self-organized and entirely run by volunteers.

AUFP night - Voku for Palestine

On Tuesday, 23rd June, there will be a Voku for Palestine at Nieuwland from 18:00 to 22:00. The event is hosted by AUFP, a student group for Palestine based at Amsterdam University College. The evening will include food served from 18:00 to 20:00, an information stand about AUFP and how to get involved, a henna workshop, a T-shirt printing workshop, and live music performed by a fellow student. The food and activities will be donation-based. Come and celebrate a year of AUFP’s resistance with us, meet fellow students interested in activism and enjoy an evening of community. Spread the word! Fundraising Voku for the Abbas Family in Gaza

Leading to our upcoming 7.0. issue Between Bodies & Homes, we Soapbox, in collaboration with the radical leftist student collective tahyafalasteen_, are delighted to invite you to join us for a vegan fundraising community dinner in support of the Abbas family in Gaza. This event is a call for reflection on the contemporary mass dispossession of housings and “homes,” conditioned by all sorts of hegemony. With Gaza as our locus of attention, we stand in solidarity with the people under mass displacement and the grassroots movements in creating new forms of “homes.” The dinner will be followed by a screening of the film Red Army/PFLP: Declaration of World War (1971), where filmmakers Wakamatsu Koji and Adachi Masao follow the Japanese Red Army and the Palestine Liberation Front in Lebanon during their training. “Declaration of World War,” echoes Leila Khaled’s articulation that “all our struggles are one single struggle.” On that premise, Masao and Koji’s documentation examines how ‘home’ can be and become a space produced by shared ideologies of anti-colonial resistance. All profit from the dinner will be directed to the Abbas family, in order to help them evacuate to safety and cover urgent medical care for Sara, one of the family members who was injured in an airstrike. Mohammed woont met zijn oom en tante, Ibtisam en Mustafa, ongeveer 15 kilometer ten noordoosten van Jeruzalem op een heuvel. Zij zijn Bedoeïenen, oorspronkelijk uit Hebron, en hebben in hun leven meerdere keren moeten vluchten voor koloniaal geweld. Ik heb hen drie keer ontmoet in Palestina.
Ze worden van verschillende kanten bedreigd. Ze kunnen hun erf nauwelijks verlaten, omdat ze op hun hoede moeten zijn voor kolonisten die hun dieren proberen te stelen of hen fysiek geweld aan willen doen. Aan de voet van hun erf wordt een enorme nieuwe weg gebouwd om nederzettingen met elkaar te verbinden , een weg waar zij zelf geen gebruik van mogen maken.
Daarnaast zijn Mohammeds werkvergunningen ingetrokken. Hij is onlangs opgepakt en enkele dagen vastgezet omdat hij achterloopt met het betalen van rekeningen.
Zo nu en dan zamel ik geld voor hen in, ook omdat zij daar zelf om vragen. En als iemand je om hulp vraagt die overduidelijk in erbarmelijke omstandigheden verkeert, dan vind ik zelf dat ik niet kan weigeren. Daarom haal ik geld op.
Vorige zomer hebben we met een groep vrijwilligers twee keer een Voku georganiseerd: we kookten in de Molli en buurthuis De Bol. Dat was een groot succes, en we hebben toen echt een mooi bedrag voor hen opgehaald.
We hebben veel contact en schrijven elkaar regelmatig. Ik ken hen, zij kennen mij, en ze kennen ook mijn partner, die uit Israël komt. Dit zijn mensen met de beste bedoelingen, met het hart op de juiste plek. Ze hebben het alleen ontzettend slecht getroffen door het geweld en de systematische onderdrukking die hen wordt aangedaan.
Ik probeer €1200 op te halen ,omgerekend ongeveer 4500 shekel. Daarmee kunnen ze hun rekeningen betalen en hopelijk uit een deel van de bureaucratische ellende komen. Misschien brengt dat op dat vlak wat rust.
Eerst wandelen en koken.

Mohammed lives with his uncle and aunt, Ibtisam and mustafa on a hill about 15 kilometres northeast of Jerusalem. They are Bedouins originally from Hebron and have had to flee colonial violence several times throughout their lives. I have met them three times in Palestine.
They face threats from different directions. They can barely leave their land because they have to stay alert for settlers who try to steal their animals or physically harm them. At the foot of their land, a huge new road is being built to connect settlements — a road they themselves are not allowed to use.
Mohammed’s work permits have also been revoked. Recently, he was arrested and detained for several days because he had fallen behind on paying bills.
From time to time, I raise money for them, partly because they ask for help directly. And when someone asks you for help while clearly living in extremely difficult circumstances, I personally feel I cannot refuse. That is why I am fundraising.
Last summer, together with a group of volunteers, we organised two community dinners (Voku), cooking at Molli and the De Bol community centre. It was a great success, and we managed to raise a meaningful amount of money for them.
We stay in close contact and regularly write to each other. I know them, they know me, and they also know my partner, who is from Israel. These are people with good intentions and good hearts. They have simply been deeply affected by violence and the systematic oppression they experience.
I’m trying to raise €1,200 around 4,500 shekels. This would help them pay their bills and hopefully get out of some of the bureaucratic mess they are dealing with, bringing at least some stability on that front.

In the early hours of May 11, 2026, a group of comrades carried out a bank expropriation in Kato Tithorea. About 5 hours later, 5 of them were arrested following a coordinated police crackdown and house raids; 8 comrades, anarchists, found ourselves held hostage by the state.
We have been charged with a list of inflated charges, including bank robberies and weapons possession. The comrades are being held at GADA, and the comrades at the Vyronas Police Station. Today, May 12, we appeared before the prosecutor and were given a deadline to appear before the investigating judge on Friday, May 15, at 9 a.m. at Evelpidon Street, Building 9.

SolidarityLine Croatia (SLC) is a distress hotline for people on the move, supporting those within Croatian territory. The aim of SLC is to assist those in physical danger—whether injured, facing health issues, stranded in forests, freezing, or drowning—as well as those at risk of pushbacks, in need of asylum access, detained, or missing.
SLC supports also people and relatives that are looking for they loved ones that are desappeared on the route. In many cases familis contact SLC after loosing the contact with their brothers, nephews, relatives that were crossing the border. SLC in doing this collaborates with 4D. 4D is a migrant justice database operating since many years and focused on documenting human losses that occur on the so-called Balkan Route.
Since May 1st 2026 until today, at least 13 people have died in Croatian territory and along the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia. 13 people in 10 days, in different moments and under different circumstances. The money raised with this people's kitchen will not go to the SLC, but rather to the costs of a funeral or repatriation of a recent victim of the border regime.
