Bin noch immer enttäuscht das FAIRTIQ auf keiner Strecke der STB funktioniert.. offiziell hatten sie schon 2022 mal damit geworben und als teil des VMT würde man erwarten das es funktioniert aber auf Nachfrage direkt bei FAIRTIQ wurde mir bestätigt "Geht auf keiner Strecke im Landkreis Sonneberg weil diese Außerhalb des Tarifgebietes sind, es gibt nur vereinzelte KOMBUS Fahrten mit welchen FAIRTIQ genutzt werden kann".
(das Blöde an der STB ist das sie kein Tarifgebiet haben nur befahrene Strecken..)
Das ist mal echt traurig.. genauso wenig kann ich es für Fahrten von meiner Wohnung in Arnstadt zur Arbeit nach Ilmenau verwenden weil die Strecke von der Erfurter-Bahn befahren wird und diese Zwar ebenfalls zum VMT gehört aber die Strecke - ebenfalls - außerhalb des Tarifgebietes liegt.
Da will man mal vom ÖPNV Gebrauch machen und der Umwelt was gutes tun und dann scheitert es an sowas.. seufz

Attended the last of the A2 Downtown planning meetings, and asked about #VMT. Turns out the city gets their seasonal traffic counts from Google, who sells them corridor specific data on how many cars take the roads.
I'm curious to know how this works... How much of this is just Google Maps/Waze/Phone pings, and how much of this is possibly what @pluralistic 's thread this week was about (cars reporting their location)
