I continue to exist, and have managed to do the one thing I absolutely have to do on a Monday -- hair washed. Extra important this week, as I need to pass as human tomorrow, ha ha.

For now, just curled up with games. I was trying my hand at Europa Universalis IV, immediately got confused, and brought up Victoria 3 instead. Which I'm still not great at, but at least I kind of know what I'm doing. Kind of. I should probably try a wider range of countries, rather than repeatedly defaulting to the US and UK. *laughs*

Whew, I have probably done entirely too much, but. At least some of the household chores are processed, and I hopefully won't have to think about anything else for the rest of the day.

I finished another pumpkin last night, with the help of easily the most ridiculous thing I have ever purchased -- a foot long upholstery needle, ha ha. But it made shaping the segments a lot easier, and it also meant I got to wave the pumpkin at my youngest and say, 'I wash myself with a pumpkin on a stick'. Not that she got 'The Simpsons' reference, but still. :D

Today is more pumpkin, LotRO, and as said -- hopefully not moving anymore. I still haven't gotten around to taking pain meds for my severe, but not as bad as yesterday headache. I'm so far mainly fending it off with Vaporub.

Vivi was such a good boy today. He usually hides if a stranger is over, but today he was out and semi-social. I told him several times how proud I was of him.

Work is done for the day, probably. But alas, I cannot get back on my Hobbit-y BS because the servers are now down for 12 hours. Rude? Rude. So now I've got to figure out what I want to play in the interim. I've got 'The Settlers' (1994 gold <3) up, but like... do I want to poke at 'Minecraft'? 'The Sims'? I'll figure something out... gonna be knitting too, of course, but I still need to pair it with something. xD

*blocks a devil's advocate style twat on discord and sighs in relief* I finally added BetterDiscord so I could avoid seeing the 'blocked message' note, because ffs what is that stupid shite.

Um, yes, so. Knitting! Almost ready to add on the third ball. The first side is up to 20 inches, so 2/3 of the way there before I start decreasing. Which will also give me a clearer idea of how far I overshot on yarn required.

The one downside of being off work is forgetting what day of the week it is. Which is my only excuse for completely forgetting to wash my hair yesterday, ha ha. It's done now, and I feel significantly more human.

That was the big thing that needed doing. I should also like, go get my key back from our neighbours finally. Poke at my blackberry bramble. Continue to otherwise be as low key as possible.

(so of course, I go out with a pot to pick berries, and then just mainlined them all directly into my face, ha ha. I only picked a few -- there are so many right now!)

Stars, I am wiped out. I had a short fayre this morning, which was technically a success -- I made an entire pound in profit, ha ha. Of course, that ignores the fact I bought stuff and the kiddo with me was scarfing treats, but *anyways*. Profit! xD

So yeah, goals for the day now that I'm back in the a/c: getting my fayre boxes put away, taking photos of the UK flag cross-stitch, and getting that in my shop. Yeah, it didn't sell. What I got instead was several old ladies old and white enough to tell me they already had enough jewellery and other trinkets, which precluded them from shopping with me. *shakes head* I mean, I guess thanks?

For now though, more caffeine and not moving. Not moving = good.

Whew, not even noon and I'm knackered. We have the declutterer in for a session, and I have already Done Too Much™®. Which is to say, I've already done all the tasks I'd allotted myself, and I'm not sure what I want to do next (we're only an hour and a half into a 4 hour session). Mainly, it's the declutterer helping spouse sort through stuff that he's let build up over time.

But it's all to the good. He's going to be completely wiped out by the time she leaves, but his brain will thank him for having less to gnaw on -- which is why the first of my self-assigned tasks was to sort the stuff that had been left in our bedroom doorway. If it's not there for him to see when he's trying to go to sleep, then it's not there to make it harder to sleep. So it goes with general existing here in the lounge.

Got that fayre tomorrow, and I'm vaguely optimistic I'll be up and moving in time. Vaguely, because it's going to be hot, and it's stupid early for me, and I can't claim optimism about how I'm going to do at the event. I adjusted my prices on fayre stuff a bit in the hopes of catching a few sales, so yanno, fingers crossed for me?

So uh... June has gotten the best of me again, ha ha. Which is to say, I thought the fayre I was doing was weekend after next, not this weekend. This weekend, where the temps are supposed to be pushing 90F outside of my house, and isn't that just rude.

But yeah, got my boxes down and I think I've got the stuff in there that I need. I'll need to go to the Post Office to get some cash. Boo to leaving the house and the a/c for a bit, but sooner done, sooner over (though after I finish my drink is soon enough).

Past that, I need to crack down and try to finish the lil UK flag heart I'm working on. As said, I thought I had another week, so I'm pecking at it a few stitches at a time. I want it done and available to see if there's any interest.

Whew, feeling like a badass right now. I decided to see how long it took me to get through my workload for the day, and yeah. I got through the bank part of it (110+ accounts) in 18 minutes, accounting for taking lil breaks in the middle. There were invoices before that, but I forgot to clock it. Whatever the case, I was done with work bang on noon, which is a great feeling.

(Of course, spouse will probably surprise me with more invoices from the office, ha ha. We'll see.)

But yeah, mainly just like, exhausted and in pain, like most days. I'm in relatively good spirits considering. Whatever small chores I manage aside, I'm just going to curl up here with caffeine and yarn and see how much progress I can make on the sock I'm working on now. My aim is to try to get to starting on the heel by day's end, but we'll see what actually happens. :)

I have survived talking with my MP! It was a more or less pleasant call, and he appeared to be taking notes. He also noted at the end of the call that he recognises that I've contacted him before and that putting a name to the face was nice. And I did acknowledge that while I vote Green (he had no questions on that, just sort of nodding knowing they're about the only Left-ist party left here), I accepted that he was my elected official and that contacting him was the right way to go about things.

So yeah. Like, I did the thing. I am... I don't even know how to process it. It's kind of huge and kind of not and well. I should've ordered myself some cookies. I do have some cream eggs, so maybe I'll crack into one of those in a bit.

For now, I am going to go crash in a corner and play Sims.

And lo, survived a social. Enough of y'all are introverts to understand that even in the best, most introverted conditions (which this was), it's still a bit exhausting. But that's okay. I don't have anything on the agenda for today, so I can just chill and recover.

Really, the only vague goal I have for the day is to finish the sock I'm working on. And if I don't, that's okay as well. But it's nice to set a goal, especially when it's optional. Like, I can see where it could be harmful, because I've self-owned myself doing that in other things. But encouraging myself to do a thing I want to do anyways that makes me happy... s'good I reckon.

I'm lucky with my kids. They're both solid humans, and by and large ridiculously easy to parent. This includes when we have to parent parent, like today.

We had gotten a call from their school yesterday wherein they and their girlfriend had been caught with a fake TikTok account 'impersonating' another person. Naughty, but not bad -- well within the realm of teenager whupses. We know kid well enough to know it was meant for laughs and not malice (and that they wouldn't be impersonating an actual person), and the extent of their 'punishment' from us was having to sit down and talk it over. They really are not comfortable with that, to which I pointed out -- we are treating you like an adult, and helping you develop a skill that you will need in later life. Better to get that in a loving, understanding environment than anywhere else. They would not have rated the experience as fun, but we could tell they were satisfied with the experience on the whole.

Really though, teens are dumbasses, and are supposed to be. It's hard learning how to person. Add in ridiculous body hormones, and yeah. A little empathy and love go a much further distance in helping a child understand. And to be fair, the school staffer who called us was clearly impressed with eldest for how willing they were to be honest about the incident, and to work with them towards a solution. Genuinely, proud of my kids for the people they are, and the people they are growing up to be as they go.

Past that, fren came over and fixed my PC yesterday! Which is to say, repaired whatever power connection we borked poking at things ourselves, and confirmed that the HDMI cable had died. Thankfully, we have spares aplenty, so that's working and much happier with life.

The downside towards working towards consistently waking up a bit earlier means that sometimes, I get done with work really early and feel like the entire day is a yawning chasm in front of me in a bad way. What's bad about having more time, brain? Really? We've got games, we've got yarn, what's the deal? Brains, innit. Rude damp sacks of fat.

Lots of little bits. Got through work, found out poor spouse accidentally duplicated a bunch of payments. Most of them were to us, so not too difficult to sort, but still Not fun when you have to fix mistakes.

I finally finished all the Pokémon Scarlet/Violet Pokédexes, and got my Shiny. Now the Switches are off, and whether or not I take a break from Pokémon remains to be seen. But I'm pleased I managed the task.

I ordered some bras, and it turns out they're all like, super thin and nipple party; I'd forgotten that was a current weird trend. As I'm not the scrawny child I was pre-kids (not that I would have wanted to engage in that trend then either!), and my boobs are prone to pointing all sorts of directions.. well. I've got them packed up for return collection tomorrow. I still want to get some new bras, but I'll just have to shop even more carefully. ><

Nothing in particular on the agenda today. Playing more Pokémon, specifically the Blueberry Academy DLC, so my child quits getting twitchy about potential spoilers (she dived right into it, so). I've also got Civ 6 going, which, good times. I laughed at myself because I forgot to turn off Religious Victory; like Cultural Victory in Civ 3, it's too easy to obtain the way I play.

I am going to *try* to make myself get some progress on my poor scarf. It's not like it's a hard pattern, but between games and continued extra exhaustion, it continues to be neglected. Which is annoying, but I'm not going to beat myself up over it either. What's the point to that?

So uh, I guess I'm knitting right now. Why? Because my Switch ran out of charge overnight and I'm waiting for it to get some in, ha ha. I have to have a fast charger somewhere, but I can't remember where, so might as well take advantage of the ways my brain works to get a smidge of crafting done.

Past that, not a lot. Being a potato. I said yesterday (day before?) something that is probably the cleverest thing I've ever said -- My brain only has the processing power of one potato right now. Sleep has come back to being relatively easy to fall into at least, so that's something (even if doesn't change the default exhausted state).

It's the start of the holiday day thing, woo, etc. It's also Vivi and Raven's 3rd birthday. That's the main thing really -- celebrating furbabies.

I also managed to do the two main things I wanted to get done today, which is pleasing. The first was getting a Shiny Chansey for my youngling, and dragging myself through the bath. That just leaves doing the cat litter later on the must-do list.

What else... spouse has the turkey pre-cooking for tomorrow, so that's exciting. I look forward to Christmas dinner tomorrow (the UK equivalent of Thanksgiving really), and the innumerable turkey sandwiches I'm going to inhale afters.

It heckin' wimdy here today. I thought that I was hearing thunder when I woke up -- it's just that loud.

I think I'm almost back in a knitting mood. Only problem is I can't find my pattern sheet. Like, I can do it without, but it would make it easier fore to remember which row I was on. It *had* been on my desk to the left of my keyboard, but I guess there's a chance I binned it when tidying.

What else... Vivi, being a dick. We installed a new cat tree in the window, and the top tiers are near the ceiling. I spotted Vivi eying the ceiling fan over that side, and told him no. So he waited a few hours and leaped onto it. The moving. Ceiling. Fan. Both cat and fan are fine, but damn boy, you didn't think that one through.

Just sort of mucking through the day. I got work done, and now I'm back to my Pokémon grinding.

I've got the weekly ISG craft and chat in an hour and a half, so that should be nice. I think I'm going to work on rings, if I do actually turn my hand to crafting alongside the chatting. Mainly, just want to keep it going so that it doesn't die before it has a chance to grow.

Just took the measure of my blanket, and it's about me tall. Yay! That means it's definitely almost complete. I think there's one more cake of yarn I definitely want to add, but we'll see how I'm feeling when I hit the next corner.

Still doing the productive grief thing... probably will be for some time. I've got an apology letter started; whether or not I send it in a couple of weeks remains to be seen. I think there's a good chance I will, but whatever the case, it's probably one of those good-for-you exercises to get it out 'on paper'.

Anyways. Mainly okay. I'll listen to my song and just sort of experience this state of existence.
