I built an interactive map of 600+ significant volcanic eruptions, 4360 BC to 2025.
"Significant" (per NOAA/NCEI) means: caused fatalities, major damage, VEI ≥ 6, generated a tsunami, or tied to a significant earthquake.
Sparse ancient data = thinner records, not quieter volcanism.
