Next stop for ma figghia and me on our virtual tour of #Cappadocia 🇹🇷 is Uçhisar! The main attraction here is Uçhisar Castle. Located at the highest point in Cappadocia, it served as a defensive and domestic fortress from the Roman through Byzantine periods.

Now heading south towards Tatlarin to see its "underground city," also called the "Fort". Not really a city, it was probably a monastery or military garrison. Winding tunnels lead you to quarters, a kitchen, toilets, and two churches. Excavations are still ongoing.
