Cleaning up my system I stumbled across the PICO-8 virtual game console I bought many years ago. So I updated it to the latest version and checked some of the virtual cartridges available for it ... still such a great system ...

I love how Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins establishes that Mario rules over his own island (creatively named Mario Land), castle and all. :neodog_box:
In any case, I just beat it for the first time! I played it as a kid, on a friend's Game Boy, so it was nice to revisit those memories. :neodog__w_: It was shorter than expected, but still a good time.

As long as I'm installing Virtual Console games on my Wii U today, I thought to throw on Alien Crush and Devil's Crush for the PC Engine. Like many people in North America, I never had much exposure to these titles, but I'd heard a lot about Devil's Crush especially in the intervening decades.
Alien Crush is good virtual pinball with a cool, Geiger-esque setting. Devil's Crush is *great*, creepy and fascinating with an excellent soundtrack.

Aber ich habe auch ein Grund endlich mal alle Teile nachzuholen die ich noch nie gespielt habe. Und darauf freue ich mich besonders.
Starten tue ich aktuell mit einen Teil von #PokemonX um die Tauschfunktion freizuschalten mit den alten #VirtualConsole spielen.
Um mir legitime #FirstGen #Pokemons von Gen1 über Gen6 zu #PokemonBank und schließlich #PokemonHome transferieren zu können.

#Wasm4 is pretty cool. It's nice to have a #virtualConsole with an ISA that is easy to generate performant native code from.
Also, live reload. 👌
Every #gamedev thing should have it. -
It's a #GameBoy DX rom file, so it'll run on any hardware variant. It even has a special background for the Super Game Boy!
I'm playing it on a #3DS, injected as a #VirtualConsole title. It plays great, the controls are perfect (as you want for a Tetris game), with good block patterns and colors.
And, the Kraken's eye goes wide whenever you slap down its tentacle, and its expression is never not funny to see.

Really missing my #Nintendo #WiiU right now.
It's the last system I grew up playing as a young girl. So, so many great first party offerings from Nintendo, dude...
And thanks to my best friends and brother, I was able to discover a plethora of indie titles to enjoy. Nothing but good times spent with this console.
I was even old enough to finally purchase something myself off the #VirtualConsole! That was a cool experience.
And the music! Oh, the music...
